How to Start a Micro Niche Sites
For those of you, who have fair amount of time working in internet marketing, appropriate terms such as ”Micro Niche Sites” or ”Micro Topic Sites“ have been familiar. Some people there are also the added category of Niche Sites, whose scope is slightly wider than the Micro Niche Sites.
For those of you who are new to Internet Marketing, you probably still do not know about these terms.
The majority of people accessing the Internet to find information. Starting from the public, to the very specific information. And so you as an internet marketer will see this as a market.
To accommodate this market, you just created the site/blogs. On the site, you were able to profit in various ways :
- Sell your own products
- Sell other peoples products and earn commissions,
- Advertising
- Sell Ebook of Tips or tricks
- Flippa Site
- Etc…
About ”Niche site“ would have to depend on the market that you seek / need. But basically, the niche can be divided into four niche that are very broad, extensive, specific and highly specific.
To more easily understood, I’ll give an example like this:
- Very broad: Business
- Extensive: Home Based Business
- Specific: Online Business
- Highly specific : eBay
For a Specific Topic, usually known by “Niche Topic”. Meanwhile a very specific topic, known as the Micro Niche, or Micro Topic. But, in practice, Niche Topic is also sometimes called Micro Niche, as indeed in most of the market / topic, spesific topic and highly specific could be the same.
On this site, I will continue to share information about the development of Micro Niche Sites the one I discussed of this, starting from the determination of the topic, the development of its ranking in Google search page and income. Perhaps in that way, you can observe directly how an online business is built, starting from zero.
The determination of Niche
As usual, the first step is to determine a potential niche and not too heavy competition.
For practice, we try to use only free tools: Google AdWords Keyword Tool.
We will try to find a potential niche, with Exact Search per month at least 1000 to the search area from the U.S.
For example, we have found a niche 4, with Exact Search each per month as follows:
- 9900 - related to Career
- 8100 - related to Beauty Products
- 3600 - relating to Household
- 6600 - related to Apparel
Based on research results of my experiment, I finally chose the four niches above, other than based on the number of monthly Exact Search, also after assessing the level of competition.
For simplicity, I usually look at web pages / sites that appear for each Keyword on page1 of Google. I will check the PR (Page Rank) of the 10 web pages / sites, summing, and dividing by 10.
If the result is 2 or less than 2, the level of competition is quite easy. But when it’s more than 2, usually rather difficult…
Monetization
Monetization is simply the way I choose to earn the money with a site that I created. Like the wise words that we often hear, “Do not put all eggs in one basket” - if the basket is missing, we will lose ALL our eggs.
As well as in building a business online, we should not stuck only on one income only, but we try to vary.
